Review: St. Ives Apricot Scrub Blemish and Blackhead Control

I tried this product out because of the small annoying pimples that popped on my forehead after a very stressful month. St. Ives Naturally Clear Apricot Scrub was the best way to get rid of pimples fast!

St. Ives naturally clear apricot scrub has three key ingredients: apricot, corn kernel meal and walnut.

According to their website:

APRICOTS are known to contain one of the highest levels of carotenoids (think vitamin A) and super-effective antioxidants. All of this natural power might seem, well, too powerful, but they are actually quite gentle and nourishing and they help make fresher, more nourished skin beautifully possible.

CORN KERNEL MEAL is actually flour ground from dried corn. It’s a soft, but gently powerful all-natural exfoliant that promotes skin cell turnover and regeneration. Cornmeal makes softer-feeling, fresher skin possible.

WALNUT is known for its hard shell, but when it’s ground, it becomes an amazingly effective, all-natural exfoliant ingredient in our scrubs. Not only are walnuts plentiful on the planet, they also help newer, healthier skin come to the surface.

This also contains 2% salicylic acid and natural exfoliants. It's also oil free!
It's good that the salicylic acid is only in small amounts 'coz that way it won't over dry your face.

I used this and the next day my pimples were gone! Well my pimples were more like tiny bumps actually, not really full blown. But still. I love how gentle this is felt on my skin even with all the exfoliants. My face felt clean but not dry at all!

They say facial scrubs can be a little harsh on your skin so it's best to use this three to four times a week. But I did experiment and used it for three straight days. I did not have any adverse effects. Well, maybe it depends on how sensitive your skin is. Use as many times as you want AT YOUR OWN RISK.

Over all this product is really amazing. I have nothing negative to say about it. BTW this retails for 199 pesos. Very affordable! :)

  3. Hi! This is nice and I must say that I totally agree with you! I have read it in BDJ's website and decided to try it. Very affordable price. At first, I was hesitant to try it since I really can't believe the low price. But lo and behold, my skin feels smooth after using this :) i used it every other day especially when i just finished exercising and once a week as exfoliator during my DIY facial. Definitely must-try :)
