Review: Fanny Serrano Two-Way Cake in Organza

I know there are a lot of reviews on this already but let me give my two cents. :)

A lot of Filipina makeup enthusiasts have been raving about the Fanny Serrano Two-Way Cake Foundation, and for the longest time I have been resisting the thought of buying it 'coz I wanted to finish up my BB Creams and other foundations first. However, I have been really oily around my t zone lately (will tell you why on my next post) that I finally decided to purchase it. Now I'm glad I did!

According to the FS Cosmetics website, the Fanny Serrano Two-Way Cake is a "High quality cake foundation that can be applied wet or dry. It contains Vitamin E that nourishes and softens skin. It also has UV-protection and oil-control."

It's available in 7 shades:

The sales assistant at the Fanny Serrano counter told me that the FS 2 way cake is second to the MAC studio fix foundation. I like how she said it. It's second place. Not quite as good but still way up there.

She said many celebrities and makeup artists use this and they keep coming back!

She recommended two shades for me; Silk and Organza. I thought Silk enhanced my yellow undertone too much so I opted for Organza. It blended really well on my skin. Btw, I also heard that Organza is a dupe of MAC Studio Fix in NC35.

The packaging is really nice. It doesn't look or feel cheap at all! One thing to point out though, is that the mirror is under the pan of the foundation. It's a bit inconvenient to keep flipping back and forth to get the product and look in the mirror. (Update: I heard there's a new packaging now. )

Staying power is very good. It stays on all day for me. No need for touch ups in the afternoon. Coverage is medium to full. The powder is really fine and silky.

What I really love about this is that it really has good oil control! No more shiny t zone for me! :)

If you're looking for affordable and effective powder foundation, I highly recommend the Fanny Serrano Two-Way Cake! It's really made to suit us Filipina women.

It retails for 399 pesos and is available in almost all Watsons and Department stores nationwide. The SA also told me that they will be launching the refills of the FS 2 way cake soon! Yay! No need to repurchase the whole compact. :)

  1. Wow! it really matches your skintone! I've heard a lot of good feedbackw from FS but have yet tried any of their product except from their eyelash curler which is a dupe of Shu Uemura's. Thanks so much for sharing ^_~

  2. Yay! I'm looking forward to getting the refills. I'm not a fan of purchasing new compacts every time because it's not environmentally friendly and refills are much cheaper! I've been wanting to get the Duchess for the longest time, but I will hold off until the refills are released.

I have a question though, does the cake easily crack? I have the Fashion 21 Two Way Cakes (Papaya & Milk) which cracked on its own halfway to the pan, maybe because of the super fine powder. And I believe FS is also made by the same manufacturer. Thanks in advance!

    1. I prefer the refills too! About your question, I've only had this for a month but I bring it with me everyday. So far it's still intact. :)

  3. I super LOVE this product! I have one in Duchess, although the shade does make my face appear a bit lighter than normal. That was the shade the SA picked for me. I should probably try Organza or Silk. I apply this over liquid foundation. I always used it during my stage musical performances and it never caked, never failed to keep me oil free, and I only had to do minimal touch-ups after sweating out and all from dancing and singing. :)
